I have the AG 8x2 Signature Plus V2, and I am wondering how to implement a PTT lockout for it to prevent hot switching. It has PTT In and Out jacks for both Radio A and Radio B, but I can't find the electrical schematic and/or specifications on how to do it.

I am still using the AG 3.0.4 firmware and the 3.0.6 app software. When I have tried to upgrade the switch to the latest software versions, it doesn't work properly with my Flex6600 radio which is running SmartSDR software ver 2.6.2.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on implementing a PTT function to prevent hot switching? Thanks and 73, Joel

Dear N9LQ,

Hotswitching protection (PTT ports on the top) was implemented since 3.0.8 so you need to upgrade the firmware to use it.

What Flex issues are you having on the new version? That shouldn't be happening.

When is hot switch protection functionality going to be added to the firmware so that this feature is available in Pin-to-Pin (PTP) mode?

You suggested that it could easily added to the firmware in August, 2019. I'd appreciate a reply/status on this.

I'm pushing the firmware developer to do this for months now.
Unfortunately he's in a different city and not very responsive to my messages and that's the only reason I can't tell you exactly when to expect it.
Hopefully very soon... I'll keep pushing for this.

When I try to run the new version, after a short and inconsistent interval, the antenna switch disconnects. I posted separately on this issue within the past couple of weeks. Please see my separate post on this. I am still running the FlexSDR 2.6.2 software which may or may not be a contributing factor.

Regarding the PTT jack, I measure 12v on it. Can I just short this out to activate it? Is it optically isolated from the AG8x2 ground?
