Is there any new Tuner Genius information (status, specs, pictures) that you can share?

Thanks,
Howard

Hi Howard,

tuner is in stage of Alpha testing and we are very satisfied with progress. What I can say is that Flex will make an public announcement soon, with spec, photo and delivery date

Thanks much Ranko. The PG XL is fantastic and I'm sure the tuner will be the same.

Wow, thanks for the peek! I'm curious if we can expect it to match the color of the PG-XL, or will it be blue and white?

Will match PGXL color, of course.

Also curious, will the TG-XL have the ability (or option) to auto-track a changing receiver slice? Or will the TG-XL have to be reactivated manually with each frequency change?

Ranko, are you expecting to release the TG before the end of the year?

Hi Ralph, thanks for your interest in TGXL.
At this point we cannot give any specific date.
Unfortunately, as you know, there are global issues beyond our control.
We work very hard on it, and it is almost around the corner.

I noticed on the rear of the SO2R version of the TG-XL that the black sub-panel which houses the SO-239 connectors looks like it might be designed as a replaceable panel. As parts become more readily available will it eventually be possible to purchase the 1x3 back panel so the user can switch between the 1x3 and SO2R models?

Also will it be possible to control more than one TG-XL via SmartSDR or the TG-XL Utility?

Actually yeah, TG XL features a modular design and it's indeed possible to easily swap SO2R and 1x3 boxes. :)
I don't see why we wouldn't offer to sell the modules individually, so it's probably gonna happen.
Good eye!

My TG-XL 1x3 showed up last week. Well worth the wait! Many thanks to the 403A team and Flex team efforts. Great product!

By the way, I was told the TG-XL 1x3 supports up to ten memories per antenna per band. For the 1x3 it supports 3 antennas per band, each with ten memories. On 160 meters there are 20 memories per antenna per band. Is this correct?

Hi Butch,

Glad to hear that you like TGXL. ;)
On 160M we have 20 memories per antenna, because some short antennas with high Q factor will be very narrow, and need re-tune on more narrow band strips

Enjoy your new toy

Ranko. Once set up, is there any way to see a list of the memorized frequencies on each band in the TG-XL?

No.
Tuner will store frequencies and automaticaly create band segments, based on tuning frequencies.

Would it be possible that some future firmware upgrade could display the memorized frequencies, via the TG-XL Utility? It would be a nice benefit to set the Tuner up with the necessary memories prior to Contest, or even for regular operation.

I have the 1x3 and it looks like I will need the SO2R module - can it be purchased separately now?

Hello KF4HR,

While technically possible the pricing and other details still haven't been worked out with Flex.
I think your best chance is to open a ticket with Flex and make your request there.
They can swap the module for you, or maybe make a trade-in for an SO2R unit.

Good luck!
