In August I was informed that hot-switch protection does not work in PTP mode of the switch, but that it could be included in the firmware.

What is the status of adding this very important feature to the firmware?

Hello Dave,

I'll let you know as soon as I have a meeting with the main developer.

I use the 8x2 switch in PTP mode, directly controlled by hard wire from band decoders associated with two radios in SO2R setup. This is a common configuration that does not rely on any software. The 8x2 was expected to provide a Hot Switch protection function, and I was disappointed to hear that this very important feature does not work in PTP mode. Dragisa indicated back in August that it should be possible. I'm still waiting and hoping for some news on this.

I’m assuming you are talking about using the PTT line to lockout changes? Can an older model be modified to add this? I’m currently using a Flex 6600 on A and BCD from an Ftdx101d on B. My AG does not have the RCA jacks for PTT.

I can't make any promises but actually that might be possible.
It doesn't seem to be in the manual so I will need to do testing tomorrow and get back to you.
